Hire Fortified™ subcontractors.

Developers & GCs

Hiring Fortified™ subcontractors is the #1 way to beat carbon codes and scale your ESG scores.

We’ll help you do that safely.

Benchmark

Developers and GCs use the Fortify benchmark to evaluate low carbon subcontractors for bidding. A subcontractor in the Top 10%, has at least three, successful jobs with a carbon footprint better than 90% of the rest. Fortified™ subcontractors are likely to build faster, stronger and better - for the same, or less cost than their peers.

Metrics

Modern low carbon materials are often stronger, more durable and longer lasting than conventional materials. Fortify Fleet calculates the benefits of switching to superior, low carbon materials so developers and GCs can market these metrics to clients, insurance providers and investors.

  • Concrete gets the majority of its strength from a chemical glue called calcium silicate hydrate (CSH). Fortified™ subcontractors know how to increase the ratio of this strength enhancing CSH.

  • Ancient Roman concrete contained a high ratio of aluminum, which allowed it to develop properties that outmatch modern Portland cement concrete. Fortified™ subcontractors know how to fortify their concrete with calcium aluminum hydrates, also known as the AFt/AFm phases - a key chemical component to Roman masterpieces like the Pantheon and Coliseum.

  • A sign of strong concrete is when the PSI exceeds the PSI specified by the engineer.

  • A minus sign indicates “cost savings”, while a plus sign indicates a “cost premium.” While some sustainable materials cost more than conventional materials (hence the term “green premium”), some are a “win-win” - meaning they have no green premium, or they even have a savings.

Support

Fortify provides subcontractors with free access to leading experts, who have already used the novel material they are planning to use. Subcontractors learn the best installation tweaks and materials procurement strategies to run a smooth project.

Get Fortified

Fortify Fleet provides two certifications — Fortified™ and Fortified™ Pro. Fortified™ subcontractors need at least 3 projects to put them into the Top 10% of subcontractors in their region. Decarbonizing further with Fortified™ Pro, subcontractors have up to 3 years to transition their supply chain to at least 50% low carbon materials. Hiring either type of subcontractor reduces risk, cost and uncertainty on your next sustainable project.
